MORAY FIRM FORSYTHS IN BUSINESS BOOM
19 June 2007 A Moray design and manufacturing firm has appointed more than 20 new staff in response to growing business in a number of its key industries.
Forsyths, which is headquartered in Rothes, has expanded its existing team by taking on an additional 22 employees – four at its Forblast facility in Buckie, 12 at its Buckie base and an additional six at Rothes – bringing the total number of staff within the firm to more than 140.
Increases in both the oil and gas and whisky industries – two of Forsyths’ main areas of expertise – has resulted in a booming business climate, creating a clear demand for additional workshop, engineering and design employees.
Forsyths chairman Richard Forsyth is delighted with the recent staff appointments and is hopeful the recent industry trends will continue.
He said: “With both the whisky and oil and gas industries continuing to thrive, we are in an excellent position to take advantage of the many new business opportunities that lie ahead. The appointment of even more staff will ensure we are in the best possible position to serve both new and existing clients.
“These are exciting times for Forsyths, and although we continue to extend our reach internationally, we are particularly committed to the local area, encouraging, where possible local employment and skills.”
Mr Forsyth added: “Last year Forsyths had a turnover of £13m, and this looks set to rise by 25-30 per cent this year. All in all we are extremely happy with the firm’s position, and as the main pot still maker in the world, we are clearly building a reputation as a market leader.”
Forsyths designs and manufactures products for blue chip, distillation, petrochemical, brewing and offshore oil and gas clients across the globe.
As well as its Rothes headquarters, the firm has two manufacturing facilities at Buckie. Grants (Dufftown) Ltd and Forblast Ltd are also both part of the Forsyth group of companies.
